Tyler Taigen, MD, FHRS, is an electrophysiologist, Co-Director of the Electrophysiology Lab and Director of Quality and Associate Section Head Electrophysiology and Pacing in the Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He specializes in nonsurgical treatment for heart rhythm disorders. He sees patients at Cleveland Clinic main campus.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Taigen was with Summa Cardiovascular Institute, Summa Health, Akron, where he was the founder and director of the Cardioembolic Cryptogenic Stroke Program and the Atrial Fibrillation Program, section head of heart rhythm services and director of the electrophysiology lab at Akron City Hospital. He was named to the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2019.
Dr. Taigen earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, Conn., where he received the Carl F. Hinz Outstanding Scholarship in Internal Medicine Award upon graduation. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, Va. In his final year of training there Dr. Taigen served as chief resident and created and launched the University of Virginia Journal of Medicine. He completed his specialty and subspecialty training at Cleveland Clinic with a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine followed by a fellowship in electrophysiology. He was chief electrophysiology fellow in his final fellowship year.
