AFS 2024 Syllabus

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, internists, fellows, physician assistants, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and other medical professionals involved in the care of patients with atrial fibrillation.

This three-day symposium is designed to meet the following objectives:

  1. Provide a current review of new information on
    the clinical science and pathophysiology of atrial fibrillation and atrial fibrillation-related
    stroke

  2. Provide a detailed presentation of the most
    recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation

  3. Discuss the prevention of AF-related stroke and
    other sequelae, with an emphasis on current and evolving pharmacological and nonpharmacological therapies and enabling new technologies in the field of cardiac electrophysiology

  4. Exchange thoughts and techniques with the
    treatment team to improve the outcome of patient care and treatment

  5. Provide appropriate care and counsel for
    patients and their families through the education of healthcare professionals

ABIM MOC Education Credit

Successful completion of this CME activity which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to (TBA) MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It Is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME or the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credits.

European Continuous Medical Education Credit

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ claimed by physicians attending live events certified and organized in the United States for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ can be claimed through the agreement on mutual recognition of credit(s) between UEMS and AMA, considered as being equal to the European Continuous medical Education Credits (ECMEC©), therefore up to (TBA) ECMEC© Credits are available.

Continuing Nursing Education

The maximum number of hours awarded for this Continuing Nursing Education activity is (TBA) contact hours.  Pharmacotherapy contact hours for Advance Practice Registered Nurses to be determined.

Upon registering and successfully completing activity evaluation, your certificate will be made available immediately.

If you wish to receive acknowledgment for completing AF2020, on the navigation menu, click on “Find Post-test/Evaluation by Course” and search by course ID 14559; for AF2019 use course ID 13429; for AF2018 use course ID 11472.

*Please note for ANCC credit, you must complete an evaluation for each day of the symposium.

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and will be emailed to you within three weeks.
