Dr. Shaan Khurshid is a Staff Electrophysiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS), and Affiliated Scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Shaan grew up in the northeast US. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Neuroscience, went on to earn his MD from the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. He completed internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at MGH. Shaan has a broad interest in improving outcomes in cardiac rhythm disorders, with a particular emphasis on the development and application of novel methods to estimate disease risk, in order to prioritize individuals for preventive interventions. Shaan has familiarity with a variety of approaches including traditional statistical modeling as well as decision analysis and clinical machine learning techniques.
