Dr. Charles Athill is currently the Executive Director and President of the San Diego Cardiac Center Medical Group. He is the Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service at Sharp Memorial Hospital and chair of the cardiology department of Sharp Community Medical Group. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Sharp Memorial Hospital and Sharp Community Medical Group.

Dr. Athill graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in 1987 with an A.B. degree in Molecular Biology. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1991. He served as an intern and resident in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and completed Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Athill was also the recipient of a National Institutes of Health Post-graduate research award. He has published numerous articles in his field of specialty in peer-reviewed journals including JAMA, Circulation, Circulation Research, Heart Rhythm Journal and Journal of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is board certified in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
